Duplicate contacts and merging
RocketLead only attaches a request to an existing contact automatically when it is certain (same name, and every channel already on file — see Repeat enquiries). Everything less certain is left for a person to decide.
Where possible duplicates appear
Section titled “Where possible duplicates appear”- A badge in the lead header — “1 mögliches Duplikat” / “N mögliche Duplikate”.
- A Mögliches Duplikat hint on the contact.
Clicking it opens the review dialog: which of these contacts is the same person as this lead? Each suggestion carries a match quality:
- Sehr wahrscheinlich
- Wahrscheinlich
- Eher unwahrscheinlich
The more phone numbers and emails two contacts share, and the closer their names, the higher the rating. A low rating with a shared email is often two parents on one household address — two people, not one.
Deciding
Section titled “Deciding”- Mit diesem Kontakt zusammenführen — opens a side-by-side comparison. Choose whose name to keep, then Zusammenführen.
- Kein Duplikat — marks the pair as two different people. The suggestion won’t come back.
- Keiner davon — none of the suggestions is this person.
Merging manually
Section titled “Merging manually”Any contact’s ”…” menu has Mit anderem Kontakt zusammenführen: search by name, email or phone number and merge from there.
What a merge does
Section titled “What a merge does”- The two contacts become one. Their phone numbers and emails are combined.
- Every request of both is moved onto the surviving contact. Requests are never merged or closed — you end up with one person and all of their requests.
- A merge cannot be undone. When in doubt, choose Kein Duplikat or leave the suggestion open.
